To: Bantam A1 Parents & Players:

Important information and dates for your calendars:

PRACTICE TIMES:

Sundays - 4:00 p.m. - Smith Box

Wednesdays - 4:00 p.m. – 5:45 p.m. - Annex

These days will change only if there is a conflict with the schedule.

Weather permitting – we will BBQ on these nights.

HOME GAMES are 6:00 p.m. – Main Arena – Monday Nights.

LEAGUE SCHEDULE - will be available later this week. League play commences Tuesday, April 22^nd – so please be ready to play on short notice next week.

TEAM PHOTOS - Sunday, May 4^th - Curling Rink on Poirier St. - Time to be advised

Team shorts will be given out that day (remember, shorts were paid for at registration).

I would like to have 2 or 3 parents to help hand out shorts that day for a few hours (approx. 10 am to 1 pm)

DUTIES

Brenda, Team Mom will provide a duty schedule for our home games. Duties include: timekeeping, the clock, concession and 50/50.

We would like to have 2 teams of 3 people to do the timekeeping and clock duties. This gives consistency in these important duties. Anyone interested please let Brenda know.

TEAM JERSEY

Each of us is required to submit a cheque post-dated for September 1, 2003 for $75.00, payable to: Coquitlam Minor Lacrosse. Please give your cheque to Brenda as soon as possible. The Association will not release our referee money until they receive these cheques.

FUNDS - FUNDRAISING

• A suggestion is for each family to contribute $150.00 for the season. (This is open for discussion)
• I am presently looking for individuals or Companies to help sponsor the Team. To date we have had two Companies graciously come forward with sponsorships totally $700. If you know of someone else who would like to sponsor us, please see me for a letter.
• I have had enquires for other fundraising events (i.e. pub night). We would need a parent or committee to step forward to organize these events if we choose to fundraise.

TOURNAMENTS

In the Bantam A-1 division there are not a lot of sanctioned tournaments to choose from.

May 17 – 19 - New Westminster - FULL

June 20 – 22 - Coquitlam - YES (Cost is $450.00)

June 26 – 29 - Saanich - Cost $450

(Canada Day Weekend) - Up for discussion

Sunday, August 10 to Thursday, August 14^th - CALGARY (cost is $1,000)

This is the National Tournament for Bantams.

We need to discuss this as a group to see if there is enough interest.

PROVINCIALS - July 24 – 27^th at the Burnaby Copeland Arena

This of course depends on if the team is successful in making it – but please keep these dates available.

We will hopefully have a parent get together in the near future to discuss the above items and any questions or concerns anyone may have.
