C.C.S.A. U11 Girls Terriers web site 2002:04:16
Note: the web site is pathetic, because I don’t really know how to make web sites yet.
News:
2002:09:06 Re-index this site to ..\terriers\index_2001.html. The root name will now be for the 2002-2003 season.
2002:04:16 Try-outs are completed, and further team assignments and such will be done in August. Please don’t be to upset if you didn’t make a rep team, as there were a lot of girls at try-outs but only limited spots available. Remember that everyone grows at different rates and times, and everything can be completely different next year. Personally, I am looking to forward to the NOT soccer season. Thanks to all of the Terriers team for a great and memorable season. We may not have been the best team by wins and losses, but we were a great team.
2002:04:16 Turn out at the field meeting last week was rather poor. More action is required by everybody if we are going to get some action on these field issues.
2002:04:09 There is a meeting Wednesday night, April 10th 7:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Middle School about Coquitlam Fields. PLEASE ENCOURAGE OUR MEMBERS TO ATTEND THIS IMPORTANT MEETING.

2002:03:24 Some try out information is posted here. I will be phoning everyone, but it is listed here if you can not wait:
Some notes about tryouts form the girls VP of competition.
Some C.S.S.A. official blurb about try outs.
2002:03:11 Click here to go to the Friendship Tournament Pictures. Great weekend everybody. A bit of a “Character Builder”, but still a lot of fun. That was just an excellent display of good soccer and teamwork under pretty harsh conditions. Well done Terriers!!! Thankyou so much for the card and present you gave me at the windup party.
Note that I have a rather low maximum bytes per session on the web server. I will try to increase it but I don't recall how to at the moment. If you have problems, try opening a new internet session. Thanks to Devon's dad, Brett, for the use of his digital camera and photo editing and transferring files and such. Thanks to Kaitlyn's mom for taking the pictures. I have some problem on my computer and all the pictures look very dark, however most look very good when viewed on other computers. (I hope I manage to get this posted before I go off on a tangent about my computer’s colour problems.) [2002:03:29 Note added: It turns out that my monitor was dying. It was dying very slowly and I didn’t really notice until trying to view the tournament pictures. Of course, I took the monitor from Cydney’s computer right away (joke: we shared, until mine got fixed)]
2002:03:09 Well, we had snow for game 1 this morning!!. However, the game at 11 went ahead. It was pretty cold out there. We took some pictures with Devon’s digital camera and they will be posted here soon.
2002:03:05 The handout from last night was almost entirely copied from this web page, so no need to post it here. The missing stuff is below (corrected):
Field locations: Mundy fields are along Munday Park at Hillcrest street between Austin and Foster.
We will have some practises in later March so that the team keeps up on their game for tryouts. Should I try to arrange one or two exhibition games?
The wind up at Me & Ed’s pizza (2233 McAllister Po.Co.) time is at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday March 10th.

2002:03:03 That was a good fun game today against the Port Coquitlam Panthers, however not one of our best games. I have wanted to play against my niece’s team for a few years now. I’ll have more feedback about the game, plus we will work on a few of the issues, at practise tomorrow.

2002:03:02 Important
news about the Friendship Tournament:
We need three
volunteers for each day from our team to help with the Friendship Tournament.
Contact Carol Veltin: (604) 936-2836.
If you can help it would be much appreciated.
Our U11 Coordinator, George has been extremely busy organizing the Coquitlam City Soccer Friendship Tournament. There is now just over a week to go. When Cydney organized the tournament two years ago, there were 115 teams. Last year, Dave (U11- G – Cyclones) grew the tournment to 170 teams. I believe the tournament is to be as big this year. I also think, that registration was sold out. When Cyd did it the amount of phone calls to our house drove me bonkers, and now it is 50% larger. This premier event of the Coquitlam City Soccer mini program is well known throughout the lower mainland soccer community.
170 teams * 14 players (ave) / team ~= 2400 players.
2400 players * 2.4 people / player ((grand)parents , siblings, conservative) ~= 5700 people
~2500 shirts
~2500 pop
~2500 hot dogs
170 teams * 4 games / 2 teams = 680 games, referee hours, field hours)
… you get the idea, it’s big.
