Portable Document Format (PDF) is a common file format created by Adobe in 1993 for document exchange. Both the standalone reader and the web browser plug-in module are free from Adobe and most computers eventually have them. However, both the standalone reader and the web browser plug-in module default installations do not have the page rotation tools available on the tool bar. In the case of a PDF file created from scanning two pages at a time from a book will default showing the pages at 90 degrees to the desired orientation for reading. I.E. The pages would be lanscape orientated but the default display would be portrait. This document will show you how to enable the page rotate tools on the tool bar.

Below is an example of the Adobe standalone reader default tool bar:

Important note: For some reason, I have not figured out how to make the following changes stick. The options seems to turn off again in an inconsistant manor. Watch this web page for updates if I figure it out. Try enabling the "Lock Toolbars" option in the below list once you have completed the changes, so far that seems to be working for me.

Place the cursor over a blank area of the tool bar (the PDF reader plug-in tool bar, not the main web browser tool bar). "Right click" the cursor to open a dialog box as shown below:

As shown above, move the cursor over the "More Tools..." line and "click" to open that item.
In the "More Tools" window, find the "Page Display Toolbar" main line item and if it is not expanded, then expand it.
Find the Rotate tools and enable them. Then "click" "OK" as shown below.
